Candidate for NY Assembly 135

While Kimberly DeRosa always paid close attention to policies impacting her family, she never imagined she would be involved in politics. It was only in the aftermath of the pandemic that she could no longer stand by while the iron fist of New York's one-party rule crushed our community.

So, she got involved in helping Republican candidates in their campaigns, joined the Monroe County Federated Republican Women, where she was elected secretary to serve on the executive committee, and became active with her local Penfield Republican Committee.

With a professional background in management and HR, the most rewarding, challenging, and undoubtedly her most important job has been being a mom to her two sons. As her youngest son is about to graduate next year, she realized the best way to serve her family is to also serve her community. That is why she is running to represent the people of NY Assembly 135th district — to bring common sense to Albany and stop the dangerous and out-of-control policies that are impacting everyday life in the suburbs of Rochester.

Her focus will be on:
- Preserving parents' rights to make medical and education decisions to best care for their children.
- Protecting women and girls' spaces and promoting fairness in women/girls sports.
- Advocating for better resources and policies to improve the mental healthcare system.
- Implementing common-sense laws to support law enforcement in keeping our communities safe.
