Yesterday evening, my beautiful Kallie passed unexpectedly due to complications after surgery. She was taken from us far too soon—just a young soul with a heart that loved more deeply than most do in a lifetime.

Kallie wasn’t just a dog. She was family. She was joy in motion, a quiet comfort, and a little spark of heaven here on earth. I’ll miss her morning rollovers for belly rubs before potty time—our simple, sacred routine. And the way she used to lick my nose, gently and deliberately, like it was her way of saying, “I’m yours.” And she was—completely and forever.

She leaves behind her brother Eli, her partner in crime, and a human family forever changed by her love. The house feels quieter now, emptier. But our hearts are full of the warmth she gave, the memories she gifted, and the comfort she brought.

As Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 12:10, “The righteous care for the needs of their animals.” We cared for Kallie with all we had—but the truth is, she cared for us in ways words could never capture. She was God's little messenger of joy, loyalty, and unconditional love.

Rest easy, sweet girl. You were deeply cherished. You were taken too soon, but your love lives on—in our memories, in our home, and in our hearts.
